El Jerife anthem (Al-nashid al-sharif) is the officiating hymnl from Morocco. This already existed before the country's independence in 1956, but it was only made official that year. The music was composed by Léo Morgan, and the last version of the lyrics was written by Ali Squalli Houssaini in 1970.
