The Art Gallery of New South Wales is one of the most famous museums in Sydney. It has 30 annual exhibitions and permanent collections of European, Aboriginal, Asian and contemporary art by national and international artists.
Collection Australian art exhibits pieces from colonial times to the present. The gallery also displays works of art by important world-famous painters as well as icons of Australian art such as Roberts y McCubbin. In the enclosure you can also find an area called the Yiribana Gallery, dedicated to Australian Aboriginal art.

The gallery building is a culturally important building in Sydney. Currently the building has been renovated by the architect Walter Vernon. It opened its doors in 1970, in 1980 it was expanded almost to double its capacity. In 1994 the Yiribana gallery was inaugurated.
