El himno national of Switzerland It is entitled "Swiss Psalm" ("Swiss Psalm"). It was written by the Swiss poet Leonhard Widmer and composed by the Swiss monk Alberich Zwyssig in 1841; however, it was only officially accepted in 1981.
Before becoming official, it was a song that was only sung during patriotic events. The Federal Council of Switzerland he rejected it as an official anthem because he considered that it was the Swiss people who had to choose.

Despite being chosen on that occasion, a very low percentage of the Swiss know it and can sing it in full. There are two replacement alternatives, but they have not been tested.
