One of the best beaches in Andalusia is Playa de Nerja. This destination is located forty minutes from the capital and is ideal for those looking to get away from the crowds or are fans of adventure sports such as diving and kayaking.
The best time of the year to visit this beach is between June and July. And, along its thirteen kilometers we can find a series of urban, natural and nudist beaches.
It has a promenade so that in its surroundings we will find restaurants, equipment rental centers for water sports and shops.
Other beaches
Close to the Nerja Beach and in about fourteen kilometers, we find other beaches such as Chucho, La Caletilla, Carabeillo, Playazo and Torrecilla. Playazo stands out since it is still considered a rural beach and Torrecilla because it has access for wheelchairs.
Tourist attractions
On the cultural and natural attractions that the Municipality of Nerja preserves, we find:
- The Nerja Cave, discovered in 1959, this cave is located in the town of Maro and houses inside paintings of seals that could be considered one of the first artistic representations of humanity as they are more than 42 thousand years old.
- The Maro Cerro Gordo Natural ParkIt is one of the most important natural destinations in the Municipality of Nerja and is made up of a series of cliffs and coves that have an average of two hundred and fifty meters of unevenness. Here the Cala del Cañuelo and the Alberquillas cove stand out.
- The town of Nerja, where travelers can appreciate the varied historical and artistic heritage of this destination, from its typical streets of houses painted in white to the floral balconies.
