Lake Izabal or Golfo Dulce is at the mouth of the Río Dulce, Department of Izabal, Guatemala. It is the largest lake in Guatemala for its 45 km long and 20 km wide that make it reach the town of Lívingston. In the lake there are two main species: the quetzal and the manatee, apart from fish, crustaceans and reptiles. In addition, you can take a boat tour with a stop at the Tatín River, the main tributary of the lake, and the Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, which can be seen in this image.
