Mandatory Vaccines

The only vaccine required to travel to Thailand is that of the yellow fever. It must be kept up-to-date by all those who have been in the last months in a country where there is a certain risk of contracting this disease. In this regard, these are the territories considered dangerous:

  • P: Panama, Paraguay, Peru
  • R: Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda
  • S: São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname
  • T: Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago
  • U: Ugandan
  • V: Venezuela

For this reason, people traveling from one of these countries must show their International Health Certificate to show that they are vaccinated against yellow fever. Remember that to be effective, the vaccine against this disease must be given at least 10 days before the trip.

Recommended vaccines

As for the vaccines that are recommended to have up to date if you plan to travel to Thailand, they are these:

  • Hepatitis A
  • MMR (measles, rubella, mumps)
  • Typhoid fever
