The Trains de Vienna part of the S-Bahn (all public transport except the metro). It goes around the outskirts of the city, mainly the suburbs and towns near the Vienna.

The main lines are:

  • Stammstrecke or Main Line (S1, S2, S3, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, S15): It consists of 13km of roads from north to south. Trains pass by stops every 2 to 5 minutes. It has the particularity of having the left platform to the north and vice versa.
  • S45: It is not part of the Stammstrecke, but it is one of the most used. It runs throughout the northwest of the city. Trains pass by stops every 5 to 10 minutes.

Trains use the same system of bills from all public transport in Vienna. The price of the standard is 1,80 euros. There are also 24 hours (5,70 euros), 48 hours (10 euros), 72 hours (13,60 euros), weekly (14 euros), monthly (49,50 euros) and annually (458 euros and a photo yours).

Trips to stops outside Vienna (stops within Vienna start with “Wien”) requires a ticket extra. They are available within any stop in and outside the city.
