El Green Ring de Vitoria it was the result of a plan of restoration and environmental recovery of the periphery of the city. This initiative has allowed it to consolidate itself as the capital of the State with the highest rate of green spaces per inhabitant (42 square meters per person).

The ring has a total of 150 thousand trees of 140 different species. It is made up of 6 parks in different parts of the periphery: legria (11,5 ha), Armentia (172 ha), Salburua (224 ha), Zabalgana (45 ha), Olarizu (30 ha) and Zadorra (82 ha). All have extensive networks of paths for walks or sports. In fact, every year from July 6 to 16 there are marches en bike mountain around the whole ring.

Among the main attractions are the 2 observatories in the wetlands of the Salburua park for the contemplation of the fauna.
