El English is 'lingua franca' of our time and in every part of the world where this language is spoken, there are differences. The best known are the differences between the England and of USA, that resemble what happens with the Spanish of Latin America and of Spain.
First of all, there are differences in the pronunciation (In addition, it varies within each country, as there are different regionalisms and jargons). In United States there are usually variations of the Californian and Texan accents. In England There are many differences between those with Scottish accent, Irish and within the same area as Yorkshire y Cornwall.
Many times these differences in pronunciation and vocabulary are not so perceived by someone whose mother tongue is not English.
There are also grammatical differences, such as the use of the present perfect and the past within certain situations, in the forms of expressing possession, in the past participle of the verb 'get', the use of some prepositions.
There are even some differences in writing and in the use of certain words.
