La Gallery of the Academy of Venice, was founded in 1750 as an Academy of Fine Arts. In 1807 it was transferred to the monumental group of which today, in addition, the old Church of Santa Maria de la Caridad and Lateran Canonical Monastery.

Today it offers the most complete collection of Venetian painting that ranges from Byzantium to beyond the Baroque.

It is almost impossible to review the most outstanding works, but we can name artists of the stature of Veronese, Tintoretto, TizianoTiepolo, Canaletto and Bellini. The collection was enriched by Napoleon, with the works obtained from churches and monasteries.

The Gallery is located in Campo della Carita in the Dorsoduro sestiere, near the Academia Bridge (ACTV Boat, Accademia stop).

El Time Visiting is on Monday from 8:15 a.m. to 14:19 p.m. and from Tuesday to Sunday until 15:XNUMX p.m. Price of the entry general is € 6,50 and reduced, for young Europeans, € 3,25. Free for Europeans under 18 and over 65. You can buy the integrated ticket that also includes Ca'd'Oro and the Museum of Oriental Art, which is cheaper.
