Santander has a wide repertoire of churches of the most varied styles and forms. These are some of the most important in the city:

Church of the Holy Christ: It is an austere church with three naves separated by robust pillars and in which the influence of the proto-Gothic monastic roots can be appreciated. It opens from 08:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 and admission is free.

Church of the Annunciation (The Company): It is one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture in the region. It was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1993.
It is only open to the public during hours of worship.

Consolation Church: Classicist baroque style church, with a nave in which the main portal stands out. Open during hours of worship.

Church of Saint Lucia: Eclectic style building by Antonio Zabaleta built between 1854 and 1868. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1987. Open during hours of worship.


Church of San Francisco
: It is eclectic and Herrerian in style. The interior, on the other hand, is classicist. The secondary altars and other neo-baroque altars in the side chapels stand out, whose scenes and figures are of modern imagery. It is only open during hours of worship.

Church of the Sacred Heart: It is one of the best examples of neo-Gothic architecture in the city. Open during hours of worship.
