Very close to Monsul beach and Los Genoveses beach (one of the best known and most popular in the area) is El Barronal, in the town of Níjar on the coast of the province of Almería.

Barronal cove

The beach

This beach is considered one of the best on the Spanish coast and one of the most recommended for naturist travelers. Although access to the cove is a bit complicated due to being a path of about a thousand meters in length and because it does not have a delimited parking, this precisely makes it ideal since it avoids its overcrowding.

La Cala de Barronal is known for being a nudist but there is no problem in being visited by those who prefer to sunbathe in a swimsuit. It is a destination that has a quiet atmosphere, being ideal to explore its surroundings in the afternoon to appreciate the luminosity it has at the end of the day.

How to get

We can reach the cove by crossing the coastline and taking the detour that is located near a building with very notorious ruins. In this area we can park the car, although we must know that in Barronal we will not have common services so we must forget to find a marked parking area.

It is important to indicate that this rustic beach is isolated in nature, so it is usually accessed only by dirt roads and bordering the adjoining coves, in addition, it belongs to the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Maritime Natural Park, recently declared a Biosphere Reserve.
