In this opportunity we want to share one of our trips to the amazing Alcazabra of Almería, one of the most emblematic monuments in the cultural history of Spain, a huge fortress that recalls the amazing Alhambra in the city of Granada.

Alcazabra of Almeria

Arriving at the historic center of Almería, at the top of the hill, you can see the imposing Tower of Homage, typical of the monument to the Alcazabra, an architectural symbol that was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2004. One of the oldest architectural sites in the entire Spanish kingdom, mostly completed in 1489 by the Catholic Monarchs. To get there, walk down the slope of Calle Almanzor, next to the old wall, through some wide stairs bordered by beautiful and colorful gardens, until you reach the Alcazabra de Almería door where it will be enough to show the ID of the Spanish residents to enter for free and enjoy a beautiful view of its Arab complex dating from the year 955, an immense interior enclosure, divided into three large sections of equal importance divided between gardens, old houses, mosques and cisterns.
