El Bendaña Palace It is an old manor house from the XNUMXth century - built from a tower house by the Arrieta Maeztu - which currently houses the Fournier Playing Card Museum. The idea of ​​the museum was Heraclius Fournier, founder of a major printing press in Vitoria in 1868. It was not completed until 1994, when the museum was inaugurated.

Facade Palace it preserves the appearance of a fortified medieval house. However, it has some Late Gothic features later introduced as decorative elements. Its interior shows a Renaissance architecture, represented by the three-story arcade courtyard.

El Museum shows, through the different collections, the evolution of the playing cards throughout history and in different countries, both from the point of view of manufacture and thematic. In total it has about 6 thousand thematically structured decks (old, bullfighting, satirical, parapsychological, among others), with special attention to the Spanish playing card.

El Time of the museum It is from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:30. On Saturdays it only opens until 14:00 p.m., and on Sundays and holidays it opens from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. On Mondays it is closed. The Bendaña Palace it is located in the heart of medieval Vitoria. To get there you must take line 15 from Bus from the city to stops 5, 6, 7 and 9.
