Valencia is the capital of the Valencian Community and one of the cities with the largest historic center in Spain. The Silk Exchange. This building of Gothic architecture that is located in the center of Valencia was built between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, being an important example of the commercial revolution that crossed the territory in the late Middle Ages. It is currently a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Valencia Cathedral. Located on what was once the Balansiya mosque, this Gothic-style cathedral with Mediterranean influences was built in the 1238th century and consecrated to Santa María in XNUMX. Inside we can see paintings from the Quattrocento period, in addition to the tower bell tower inaugurated in the middle of the XNUMXth century and known as El Miguelete.

The City of Arts and Sciences. Located at the end of what was the Turia riverbed, this cultural and architectural complex is one of the most important in Spain. Among the buildings that make it up, the following stand out: L'Hemisfèric, the Prince Felipe Science Museum, the Oceanographic, the Reina Sofía Palace of the Arts and the Agora.

The Torres de Serranos. Built by Pere Balaguer –who took inspiration from the Gothic gates of Catalonia– these towers are part of the twelve that were formerly the protection wall of the city of Valencia.

The Basilica of the Virgen de los Desamparados. As part of the various baroque-style constructions that were made in Valencia throughout the seventeenth century, we can find the Chapel of the Virgen de los Desamparados, the same one that has held the title of basilica since the end of the nineteenth century.

Bullring. Built at the end of the XNUMXth century, this square, which has a diameter of more than fifty meters, stands out for its neoclassical style very similar to the amphitheater of Nimes in France. It is considered one of the largest bullrings in Spanish territory.
