Lisbon it is a party city. Naming them all would be difficult, which is why these are some of the most prominent festivities in the city.

Carnival: Rio's carnival may be the most famous in the world, but it had its origins in the Lisbon Carnival. This celebration of the end of winter is one of the most important on the city's calendar. The highlight of the carnival is the "entrudo", when processions of floats make their way through the colorful streets, while jugglers and people in masks join in the music and applause. The focal point of the carnival is in the Park of the Nations, but there are parties all over the coast. It is celebrated from February 12 to 16.

Lisbon Village Festival: It is doomed to celebrate the digital arts. It showcases movies, arts and music. In the first there is a film Festival which awards several categories and shows the best of the seventh art from countries from Poland to Japan. It is celebrated in various parts of the city during May and June.

Festivities of the Popular Saints: During the summer several parties are held. The most notable is the fuesta dedicated to three saints (Saint Anthony, Saint John and Saint Peter) called “Festivities of the Popular SaintsWhich consists of concerts, exhibitions, culinary competitions and generally a lot of food and sangria until dawn. The party reaches its peak on the eve of day of San Antonio (June 12 and 13) with the parade of the Liberty Avenue (known as "Popular Marches") and parties in the district of Alfama. As a symbol of affection for the saints, people give each other small pots of basil and pieces of paper with poems as gifts. The celebrations of the saints take place from June 12 to 29.

Rock in Rio de Lisbon: Following the success in Brazil of Rock in Rio, now the popular event has moved to Lisbon where it is held once every two years in the Bela Vista Park. This is where internationally renowned bands, singers and DJs go. The music doesn't stop for two weekends. The event has attracted artists of the caliber of Metallica, Amy Winehouse, Rod Stewart among others. It is usually celebrated on the weekends of June.
