La French Polynesia is located east of South Pacific. It is made up of islands that cover an area of more than 3 million square kilometers. It is made up of the following island groups: Austral Islands, Bass Islands, Gambier Islands, Marquesas Islands, Society Islands, and Tuamotu Archipelago.
The most famous islands in French Polynesia are: Bora Bora, Moorea, Nuku Hiva y Raiatea. The most populated island and the one that receives the largest influx of tourists, is the island that is in the group of Society Islands, the Island of Tahiti. In Tahiti, besides being the largest of all the islands, it is also the place where Pappete, the capital of French Polynesia, is located.
The climate of these places is tropical, with gentle breezes from the Pacific and sun almost all year round. There are two marked stations; the climate is hot and humid between November and May; the climate is cool and dry from June to October. The annual average temperature is 26 degrees.
The official languages of the Polynesian islands are French and Italian. The English language is used in tourist places so it will not be a problem to communicate on your trip.
The islands have volcanic or coral origin. The territory is located in a place of great seismic activity.
