La tower of London is a medieval fortress. It was founded by William the Conqueror in 1066. It has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is in excellent condition.
Actually the Tower is palace, jail, chapels, gallows and museums, all together within the walls.
It is located to the East of London and the best way to get there is by river, passing under the londonbridge, but you can also do it by metro or by bus.
