Alajuela
In Alajuela, the traditional female costume consists of a loose cotton shirt with ruffles, a rebozo or brightly colored shawl and a silk petticoat with soft colors.
Likewise, a black velvet ribbon with a cross or a gold medallion is typical around the neck. As for the hair, braids adorned with colored ribbons are combed. The shoes are patent leather ankle boots, although they can also go barefoot.
The men's version is made up of a white long-sleeved shirt, a red scarf and jeans. They usually accompany it with a gold ring and go barefoot or with leather sandals or falls.
Carthage
The women of Cartago, in the Central Region, wear a blouse or cotton with lace, a skirt with three ruffles and ankle boots. Both a veil and a hat are worn on the head.

Guanacaste
In Guanacaste, the typical costume for women consists of a blouse or camisole with puffed sleeves and a white, ruffled cotton petticoat. The men wear white cotton trousers, a chemise with a different colored front, and a hat.

Heredia
The traditional dress in Heredia is different. Colors are generally darker and garments more conservative.
In the case of women, they wear a plain cotton or silk blouse with a high neck, a long petticoat, a black silk towel on the back, and black patent leather ankle boots.
Lemon
The province of Limón is located in the east of Costa Rica. In this area, the typical clothing for women is made up of a white blouse with ruffles and colored trims, a long skirt in bright colors, leather sandals and a flower on the head. Sometimes an apron is also worn.
Likewise, the men wear a white shirt, long pants, a sash at the waist, a neckerchief and a small hat. As for footwear, they wear sandals or falls Leather.
